Your organization and its members come first. As a Parliamentarian I can provide a number of services to help support your meeting needs. I am comfortable and experienced in both virtual and in-person formats. I am available to provide any of the services noted below or offer bespoke options that are customized to best meet the needs of your organization. Contact me to discuss further!

Please note my services are offered in English only. I welcome additional languages at meetings as well as the use of translation services. In addition I support all organizations regardless of backgrounds or beliefs.

I also adhere to the Code of Professional Responsibility for Parliamentarians.

Meeting Services

Help your organization prepare for the meeting via any of the following:
- Document review
- Document drafting
- Scripting of the meeting
- Motion/Resolution review (and potential revision)
- Procedural 'what if's'
- Enhance meeting practices (registration, voting, elections, etc.)
Provide on-site or virtual support as parliamentarian
Serve as the presiding officer of the meeting
Assist in the drafting of minutes, reports, or other documents.

Parliamentary Counsel

Provide interpretation or formal written opinion on procedural scenarios
Provide suggested revisions to prescribed meeting rules to mitigate risks and enhance meetings
Provide suggestions on how to run your meetings; based on experience as well as industry best practices
General advice on how to navigate challenging meeting situations
General advice on how to address governance
Recommend other professionals where required (i.e. legal, other parliamentarians)

Training & Workshops

Organize and deliver training and orientation sessions on the following:
- How to host effective meetings (Board, Member, Committees)
- Specific parliamentary procedures (i.e. points of order, amendments, postponement)
- Presiding practices and tips for being an effective meeting Chair
- Minute-taking must knows
Sessions may be in the form of webinars, workshops, or email learning courses
Sessions can be basic or more advanced

Voting Support

Serve as lead voting scrutineer (supervise, educate, and manage a team of scrutineers)
Serve as teller on a team of scrutineers (an independent to help count the votes!)
Review your existing voting processes and identify risks or areas for improvement
Help to ensure that elections are conducted ethically and in alignment with procedural rules
Acquire and/or manage an online voting subscription on your behalf
Support is tailored to the format of the meeting and other meeting variables.

Jason assists us with our AGM, offers workshops and training for our board and members and is always available to answer questions that crop up over the course of doing business. He does a wonderful job explaining both the how and the why behind parliamentary concepts - his focus on rationale makes Robert's Rules feel (almost) intuitive. Jason's workshops include a review of concepts and opportunities to practice common procedural scenarios using scripts. The workshop was a wonderful mix of information delivery and hands-on practice, with a procedural manual provided for reference in the future. Jason always leaves ample time for questions that allow participants to dig into common issues like the appropriate ranking of motions.
